Rules & payouts
  • Object — bet on which hand, Player or Banker, will score closer to 9, or bet Tie. Cards 2-9 are face value, 10/J/Q/K count as 0, Aces count as 1. Hand value is the sum of both cards' values, keeping only the last digit (a 7 and an 8 make 15, which counts as 5).
  • No decisions — once your bet is down, the hand plays itself. Player and Banker each draw a third card automatically under a fixed set of rules; you just watch it resolve.
  • Natural — an 8 or 9 on the first two cards, for either hand, ends the round immediately with no third cards.
  • Player bet — pays 1:1. Pushes (bet returned) if the hands tie.
  • Banker bet — pays 1:1 minus a 5% commission on the win, charged only when Banker wins. Pushes if the hands tie.
  • Tie bet — pays 8:1. Only a Tie bet wins on a tie; it's a separate bet from Player or Banker.
  • Shoe — dealt from a real 8-deck shoe, reshuffled between hands once it runs low.

Baccarat is a comparing game between two hands, Player and Banker — the names don't refer to you or the house, they're just the two hands' labels. There are no strategic decisions once you've placed your bet: every third-card draw follows a fixed rule, so the entire game comes down to picking which of the three bets to make.
